My otherworld series was conceived of from a dream I had one night, which gave me a rather interesting set of possible answers to some questions I'd had for most of my adult life. I've always been fascinated with the alien abduction phenomena because there are so many world wide who claim they have experienced first hand contact with aliens, in most cases the ones called the Greys. On some level I've always felt that they were telling the truth as too many of them have the same story, and similar experiences. I disagree with some in mainstream society who say the experiences are not real, and are fostered by movies, books and other popular media. I feel that these ideas about the Greys which are expounded in media come from true life experiences of abductees rather than the other way around.
I began to toy with the idea of a series about a fight between the Greys and humans on Earth. I asked myself the question, what if there are other human populations out in space, and what if they've already fought this battle, and won? What if in their fears of humanity dying out because of hybrids, they created a holocaust wiping out any who were different, before they finally came to their senses? What if they enacted laws saying that people from their world could not visit, nor intermarry with humans from other worlds?
To find out some of the answers to these questions, and others check out Angel Whitedove's story in Getting Out Alive.
